Job Description

Responsible for the day-to-day accounting transactions which include banking, accounts receivable and accounts payable.  This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including month end close, general ledger maintenance, financial reporting and external audit preparation. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Handle all day-to-day general accounting duties: accounts payable, accounts receivable and cash management.
  • Review vendor invoices for accuracy, investigate and resolve account discrepancies.
  • Responsible for month-end close and preparation of financial statements.
  • Prepare journal entries, bank reconciliation, petty cash reconciliation, GL reconciliation and credit card reconciliation.
  • Perform inventory validation.
  • Adhere to previously established internal controls.
  • Provide advice on business process improvements.
  • Guide financial decisions by establishing, monitoring and enforcing policies and procedures
  • Develop and compile weekly, monthly and ad hoc analytical reports.
  • Work directly with external auditors for accounting and audit matters. Provide schedules and documents related to the external audit of the Company’s financial statements
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or comparable work experience in accounting
  • 5+ years of general accounting experience
  • Prior experience working at a golf club is preferred
  • Jonas accounting software a plus

SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel
  • Strong working knowledge of accounting principles
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in an environment with competing deadlines and changing priorities
